Learn about the automatic checkout feature for overnight valet

The automatic checkout feature assists an overnight valet operation by checking the guest out of their parking session on their checkout date. This reduces the amount of work required by the operation during the key scrub process.

How it works

Throughout the day, the system will check for vehicles that meet the checkout criteria and end their parking session. The following rules must be met for the guest to be checked out.

• We have their checkout date on file, and that checkout date has arrived

• The local time is after 1pm

• The vehicle status is “Out”

This feature is enabled by default on all overnight valet mobile pay operations.

FAQ

Why do we only check the guest out after 1pm local time?

This is to ensure we don’t end the session early. Some guests may leave property the morning of their checkout date and return (they may go out for breakfast, or play a round of golf). When they return, we want their session to be valid.

Can I disable the feature at my location?

At this time, there is no ability to disable the feature. If you have a use case for disabling, please submit a feature request using the option in the left hand menu.
